Australia’s richest fishing competition just got even more exciting. Million Dollar Fish Season 11 has introduced the Reel of Fortune — a new twist that adds monthly challenges and bonus prizes for anglers across the Northern Territory.
Running from November through to March 2026, the Reel of Fortune will spin up a new incentive each month to keep the action fresh. The first spin has landed on The Weekend Fisho — a high-stakes November challenge where the angler who catches a $10,000 red-tagged barramundi on a weekend will double their winnings to $20,000.
It’s a winner-takes-all promotion, closing once the first eligible weekend catch is made. Eligible dates run from Friday 3:00pm to Sunday 11:59pm on 1–2 November, 7–9 November, 14–16 November, 21–23 November, and 28–30 November.
Season 11 has already kicked off strongly, with nine $10,000 red-tagged barramundi caught, including the season’s first interstate winner. So far, $90,000 in prize money has been awarded, and $9,000 donated to charity partner Surf Life Saving NT.
There are still 91 red-tagged barramundi worth $10,000, plus 11 fish carrying a $1 million tag, swimming in Top End waters.
Sportsbet NT Operations and Partnerships Manager Thijs Bors said the new feature keeps the competition fresh. “Million Dollar Fish is all about keeping the excitement alive for fishos, and the Reel of Fortune is another way we’re making that happen,” he said. “November brings plenty of new twists, giving registered anglers even more chances to win great prizes—on and off the water.”
